Karl-Heinz Esch (born August 12, 1939 - † February 22, 2018 ) was a German football player .

Career

Esch reached the final of the German Amateur Championship in 1964 with the amateur team from Hannover 96 . In coach Hannes Kirk's team , the striker demonstrated his skills and scored the 1-0 lead against SV Wiesbaden in front of 10,000 spectators at the Ischelandstadion in Hagen , the game ended 2-0 after a goal by Michael Ferenz. Esch became amateur champions with his teammates. In the following year he was able to defend the title with the amateurs of Hannover 96. In the final they met again on SV Wiesbaden and Esch contributed two hits to the 2-1 victory. His good performance in the amateur team gave him the opportunity to play in the Bundesliga . In the 1966/67 season , coach Horst Buhtz Esch started. He played five times.
