Hannes Kirk (born March 3, 1924 in Hebrondamnitz , Stolp district , † November 20, 2010 in Hanover ) was a German football player and coach .

Player career

Kirk began his career as a football player with multiple Pomeranian champions SV Viktoria Stolp . Several times he was appointed to the youth team in Pomerania. In the war year 1942 he was drafted into the air force. After the end of the Second World War he came to Bremen. There he played for SV Hemelingen until 1948 and was appointed to Bremen's amateur team seven times.

As a contract player , the DFB made it possible in 1949, he was in the service of SV Werder Bremen since 1948 , for whom he came to 62 point games in the Oberliga Nord . Kirk played three times for the national team of the North German Football Association and was appointed to the squad of the national team of amateurs for the Olympic football tournament in Helsinki in 1952 ; however, he was not taken into account in the final round.

After the Olympic soccer tournament he played for Hannover 96 , for the club he played three games in 1953/54 and five in 1955/56 for the DFB Cup . On his debut, after two games, he reached the final scheduled for May 23, 1954 in Hamburg 's Volkspark Stadium . In front of 76,000 spectators, he and his team won the German championship 5-1 against 1. FC Kaiserslautern . After 132 league games he ended his active football career in 1957 due to a groin injury.

Coaching career

After the end of his playing career, he became the coach of the amateurs of Hannover 96. With these he won the German amateur championship three times as a coach in 1960, 1964 and 1965 . He was also the interim coach of the first team for three months in 1962 and for four games in 1966.

Kirk worked for the Deutsche Bundesbahn as a surveying technician.
