Karl-Josef Jochem

Karl-Josef Jochem (born July 29, 1952 in Illingen (Saar) ) is a German politician and member of the FDP . He was Vice President of the Saarland State Parliament .

education and profession

In 1974, Jochem graduated from the police vocational school with intermediate school leaving certificate and then completed a commercial apprenticeship in retail from 1967 to 1970 before joining the Saarland police in 1971 . From 1974 to 1978 he did individual service with the uniformed police and then until 1985 with the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution .

Jochem is married and has two children.

Political party

Jochem has been a member of the FDP in the Illingen branch since 1975. He has been a member of the Neunkirchen district board since 1980 . In 1982 he was deputy local chairman of the FDP Illingen. Since 1982 he has been a member of the regional environmental committee. From 1985 to 1989 and 1990 to 2000 he was chairman of the FDP Illingen and from 1992 to 1994 and from 2004 to 2012 a member of the Saarland state parliament. From 1999 to 2000 he was district chairman of the KV Neunkirchen district association. From 2000 to 2002 he was regional chairman of the FDP Saar . From 2002 to 2010 he was deputy state chairman of the FDP Saar. From 2009 to 2012 he was Vice-President of the State Parliament; also chairman of the Committee on Environment, Energy and Transport. In addition, he was environmental and domestic policy spokesman and a member of the committee on issues relating to the protection of the constitution. With the early state elections in 2012, he left the state parliament.
