Karl Adolph Caesar (born April 12, 1744 in Dresden , † January 12, 1811 in Leipzig ) was a German philosopher and university professor.

Life

Caesar was born in Dresden on 1744. He first learned at the grammar school in Görlitz and then studied at the University of Leipzig, where he received his master's degree in 1769. After working for a few years as a tutor for two noble sons, he became an associate professor of philosophy at the University of Leipzig on January 7, 1778 . On December 23, 1786 he was appointed full professor of philosophy, since March 4, 1789 he was full professor of Organi Aristotelici . In the summer semesters 1793, 1799, 1803 and 1807 he was rector of the University of Leipzig.

Caesar worked as a translator of philosophical writings from the French and Italian languages ​​into German.

He died in Leipzig in 1811.
