from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Karl Aichinger (born April 25, 1951 in Floß in the Upper Palatinate ; † December 13, 2014 in Regensburg ) was a German painter and sculptor.

life and work

Karl Aichinger attended the Kepler grammar school in Weiden . After graduating from high school, he began studying sociology and mineralogy, which he gave up in favor of working at the theater. Alexeij Sagerer brought him to the "Theater proT" in 1973, where he was involved in the creation of the play "Wattn (a card game) or Ois brenn 'ma nida" (1974), worked as an actor and musician and painted pictures. Then he returned to the Upper Palatinate, trained as a stonemason and stone sculptor at the age of 30, only to devote himself to his own work, the fine arts and music.

In addition to paintings, graphics and sculptures, he created photographs, films and CD covers in his studio in Weiden, primarily for productions at the Donaueschinger Musiktage .
