Karl Albrecht III. Philipp Joseph zu Hohenlohe-Waldenburg-Schillingsfürst (born February 29, 1776 in Vienna , † June 15, 1843 in Bad Mergentheim ) was a member of the Hohenlohe family . He held the title of prince since 1796.

Life

Karl Albrecht III. was a son of Prince Karl Albrecht II (1742–1796) and his Hungarian wife Judith Freiin von Reviczky de Revisnie (1753–1836), widowed Baroness von Beothy. Karl Albrecht III. experienced the mediatization of the House of Hohenlohe in Kupferzell in 1806 . In 1807 he ceded the rule of Schillingsfürst to his brother Franz. From now on, the office of Kupferzell was under Waldenburg. With the loss of political independence, the domains of the newly founded Kingdom of Württemberg were incorporated by King Friedrich I of Württemberg (1754-1816). Schillingsfürst came to Bavaria.

The prince was married twice. He married Princess Auguste zu Isenburg-Birstein in Munich on July 11, 1797 . The couple had three children. Princess Augusta died in 1803. He married again on May 20, 1813 in Heiligenberg with Princess Leopoldine zu Fürstenberg (* September 4, 1791; † January 10, 1844), the daughter of Prince Karl Aloys zu Fürstenberg and Princess Maria Elisabeth von Thurn and Taxis (1767-1822).
