Karl Appel

Karl Appel (born December 28, 1892 in Vienna ; † January 10, 1967 there ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ).

education and profession

Karl Appel attended elementary school in Vienna, the Schottengymnasium (where he graduated with honors in 1911) and the kk export academy , where he received his doctorate in 1917.

He then came to the Scheibbs district administration as a concept intern at the kk Niederösterreichische Lieutenancy . There he was chairman of the district maintenance commission and chairman of the disability office. During the First Republic he moved from Lower Austria to Vienna, where he became secretary to Mayor Karl Seitz . In 1939 he was retired and after the Second World War he was not accepted again by the municipality of Vienna.

In 1934 he was briefly imprisoned for a political prison sentence.

Private

After his death in 1967 he was buried in the Neustift cemetery .

  • 1928: First deputy chairman of the organization of social democratic employees in the city of Vienna
  • May 3, 1932 - February 17, 1934: Member of the National Council
