Karl Appel from Kapocsányi
Karl Appel von Kapocsányi (* 1773 in Ludwigsburg ; † January 6, 1839 in Pest ) was a Hungarian farmer .
Life
Karl Appel studied at the Royal Institute in Stuttgart . There he made the acquaintance of a Count Hunyadi , who was just traveling through Germany. Appel followed him to Hungary, where he was appointed administrator of the count's estate. In addition, he took care of the estates of Counts Karl and Michael Esterházy and of the prince of the same name, and also of Prince Antal Grassalkovich III.
Appel's livelihood is the management of these goods. In addition, he made a contribution to promoting refinement in sheep breeding . This happened in the nurseries of the estates. This ensured that the wool from these nurseries was among the best in Silesia .
Because of his services, Appel was raised to the nobility of Hungary by Emperor Franz II .
