Karl Benjamin Acoluth

Karl Benjamin Acoluth , contemporary Carl Benjamin Acoluth , (born July 2, 1726 in Pirna ; † December 29, 1800 in Budissin ) was a German lawyer and writer .

Life

The son of the doctor of medicine and later general practitioner and pharmacist in Zittau, Johann Karl Acoluth , had attended the grammar school in Zittau and enrolled at the University of Wittenberg on October 7, 1746 . Here he had initially pursued philosophical and theological studies and in 1748 acquired the academic degree of a master's degree in philosophy. After briefly staying at the University of Leipzig in 1750 , he returned to the University of Wittenberg that same year, where in 1754 he became an adjunct of the philosophical faculty, librarian of the university library and in the same year a member of the Electoral Mainz Academy of Useful Sciences in the philosophy class . Then he began to deal more intensively with law and received his doctorate in 1757 in Wittenberg as a doctor of law. He then moved to Budissin, where he lived as a legal counsel and later became a senior official.

The orientalist and linguist Andreas Acoluth was his grandfather. The medic Johann Acoluth was his great-uncle.
