Karl Brugger

Karl Brugger (* 1942 in Zell ; † January 1, 1984 in Rio de Janeiro ) was a German foreign correspondent for ARD (First German Television) and author .

Karl Brugger, who graduated from high school in Riedlingen in 1961 , studied contemporary history and journalism in Munich and Paris . He first worked as a freelance journalist in Latin America , from 1974 he took over the position of ARD correspondent in Rio de Janeiro .

He wrote the book The Chronicle of Akakor that the mystical events of the dodgy, purported Indians - Chief Tatunca Nara describes in the Brazilian rainforest.

Brugger was shot dead by a stranger on New Year's Eve in 1984 in Rio de Janeiro . Tatunca Nara was charged with this murder, but he could have an alibi . To date, the murder of Karl Brugger has not been solved.
