Karl Christian Heinrich Westphal

Karl Christian Heinrich Westphal (born June 27, 1824 in Schwerin ; † August 11, 1890 ) was a lawyer, mayor of Schwerin and a member of the Reichstag .

Westphal visited the Fridericianum Schwerin and studied from 1844 to 1848 in Heidelberg and Rostock law . During his studies he became a member of the Heidelberg Castle Association in 1844 and of the Teutonia Heidelberg fraternity in 1845 . After passing the first examination, he joined the magistrate as an auditor, and in 1855 he was elected senator. In 1866 he was appointed syndic of the city of Schwerin and in 1870 the council elected him mayor. He was u. a. Director of the Magistrate Court and director of the board of all municipal schools.

From 1871 to 1874 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the National Liberal Party for the constituency of Mecklenburg-Schwerin 2 (Schwerin-Stadt).
