Karl Ebert (soccer player)
Karl Ebert (born February 19, 1927 ) is a former German soccer player. For Turbine Halle he played 19 games in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football , between 1950 and 1953 . In 1952 he was GDR soccer champion with Turbine Halle.
Athletic career
For four seasons Karl Ebert played for the company sports community (BSG) Turbine Halle in the GDR league, the first season 1950/51 was his most successful. On October 14, 1950 he made his league debut. In the ninth game of the BSG Turbine he was used as a midfielder and scored his only league goal in a 4-0 win in the home game against Progress Meerane . In the course of the 34 round season, he was used in a total of ten point games, mostly as a defender. When Turbine Halle became champion in 1951/52, Ebert only made two appearances towards the end of the season. Also in the following league seasons Ebert was only a reserve player. In 1952/53 he was used at the end of the season four times in the league, only twice he was in the starting line-up. In the season 1953/54 he was called up in three league matches as a midfielder in November. His last, the 19th league game of his career, he played on November 15, 1953 in the game Empor Lauter - Turbine Halle (1-0).
