Karl Endriss

Karl Emil Endriss (born September 30, 1867 in Göppingen , † September 26, 1927 in Stuttgart ) was a German geologist .

Life

Karl Endriss studied geology and zoology in Stuttgart, Leipzig , Munich and Zurich and received his doctorate in geology at the University of Zurich in 1898 (work on the geology of the Randecker Maar and the Schopflocher Ried).

After staying at the zoological station in Naples , he was at the geological survey of Saxony. In 1891 he completed his habilitation in Stuttgart, where he was a private lecturer and from 1901 an associate professor. From 1907 he was a private scholar and freelance expert.

He dealt with stratigraphy of the Triassic , with karst and speleology . He made a tectonic map of Württemberg (1900).

He was a supporter of the naturopathic teaching of his teacher Gustav Jäger.
