Karl Erik Bøhn

Karl Erik Bøhn (born February 14, 1965 in Sandefjord , † February 2, 2014 in Tønsberg ) was a Norwegian handball player and coach.

Career

Bøhn went on the hunt for goals in his birthplace Sandefjord and played a total of 126 games for the Norwegian national team between 1986 and 1993 , in which he scored 114 goals. After his active career, he worked as assistant coach for the Norwegian national team from 1994 to 1997. His first coaching position was the Drammen HK men's team , which he coached between 1998 and 2002. He then belonged to the coaching team of the Norwegian first division club Larvik HK . From 2005 to January 2011, Bøhn was the main coach of Larvik HK, who celebrated the Norwegian championship every season under his leadership and won the European Cup Winners' Cup in the 2007/08 season . In November 2011 he took over the top Hungarian club Győri ETO KC until the end of the 2011/12 season , with which he also won the national championship. From 2011 he was also responsible for the Hungarian women's handball team. During his tenure, Hungary won the bronze medal at the 2012 European Championship in Serbia .

Private

Bøhn was in a relationship with the Norwegian handball player Heidi Løke until December 2012 . On February 2, 2014, he died of leukemia .
