Carl Ernst Rahtgens , also Karl Ernst Rahtgens (born August 27, 1908 in Lübeck , † August 30, 1944 in Berlin-Plötzensee ) was a German lieutenant colonel and resistance fighter .

Life

Carl Ernst Rahtgens was the son of Otto Alwin Rahtgens, the then managing director of the Graphic Art Institute HG Rahtgens in Lübeck, where he spent his childhood and began his high school education at the Katharineum . He was married to Johanna Helene Rahtgens, b. by Cramon . His uncle was Field Marshal General Günther von Kluge .

He was involved in the overthrow of July 20, 1944 , was arrested in Belgrade , sentenced to death by the People's Court on August 30, and executed on the same day in Plötzensee .
