Karl Foerstel

Karl Förstel (born February 24, 1928 - † July 5, 2018 ) was a German classical philologist .

Life

In the winter semester of 1966/1967, Karl Förstel taught the German-Latin translation courses at the Ruhr University in Bochum . In the winter semester of 1970/71 he received his doctorate with studies on the Homeric Apollo hymn with Hellmut Flashar at the University of Bochum. He was most recently in the local seminar of Classical Philology as director of studies working in higher education services. He became known for his translations from Greek in the context of the Corpus Islamo-Christianum published by Reinhold F. Glei .
