Karl Felderer
Karl Felderer (born May 17, 1895 in Margreid ; † March 3, 1989 in Bozen , South Tyrol ) is the author of the famous Bozen mountaineering song .
Life
In 1926, at the time when the German-speaking South Tyroleans were being oppressed by Italian fascism , Felderer wrote the “Bozner Bergsteigerlied” (“The world is so big and wide ...”), which became well known in the following decades. Most of the time, especially the last few years of his life, Felderer lived in Bolzano. His house on Brennerstrasse was demolished at the beginning of the 21st century.
