Karl Franz Joseph Thelott

Karl Franz Joseph Thelott , also Carl Thelott (born October 3, 1792 in Düsseldorf , † November 19, 1830 in Augsburg ), was a German portrait painter and engraver .

Life

Thelott, son of Ernst Carl Thelott , the professor of copper engraving at the Düsseldorf Art Academy , like his younger brother Ernst, received artistic training from his father. In 1814 he was a student of Johann Peter von Langer in Munich , who instructed him in portrait painting. In 1821 he worked for Prince Friedrich of Prussia in Düsseldorf, in 1823 in Frankfurt am Main , then in Berlin . In 1827 he worked as a portrait painter for princely people in Westphalia .
