Karl Frey (born October 6, 1928 in Jülich ) is a German politician and former member of the state parliament ( CDU ).

Life

After attending elementary school and high school with the Abitur , he studied law and political science at the universities of Bonn and Cologne. After taking the first and second state exams , he worked as a civil servant in the city of Jülich and in the Federal Ministry of Defense.

Frey had been a member of the CDU since 1960. He was active in numerous party committees, so u. a. as chairman of the CDU district association Jülich.

MP

From July 24, 1966 to May 29, 1985 Frey was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was directly elected in the constituencies 007 Jülich - Düren II and 007 Düren I. He was a member of the Hambach municipality from 1964 to 1971, during which time he was also mayor . He was a member of the district council of the Jülich district and the Düren district from 1969 to 1975.
