Karl "Kolle" Günnemann (born August 25, 1931 in Lintfort ; † May 10, 2015 ) was a German handball player .

Career

Günnemann had been a member of TuS Lintfort since April 1, 1946 . In his career he won numerous titles with his club:

  • 1948: German A youth champion in Lage / Westphalia against Ketsch / Baden
  • 1949: German A youth champion in Braunschweig against Flensburg 08
  • 1952: German runner-up against SV Police Hamburg in front of 35,000 spectators in Duisburg
  • 1954: German runner-up against Frisch Auf Göppingen in front of 20,000 spectators in Stuttgart
  • 1959: German champions against Bayer Leverkusen in front of 35,000 spectators in Duisburg
  • 1960: German runner-up against TSV Ansbach in Oberhausen in front of 35,000 spectators
  • 1961: German champions against TSV Ansbach in front of 35,000 spectators in Oberhausen

In 1952 Kolle Günnemann became world champion in field handball against Sweden with the German national team in Zurich .

Kolle Günnemann played 15 internationals (14 field, 1 hall) for Germany , including internationals in Japan, the USA and Canada. He also took part in nine selection games for West Germany. He was seven times Niederrhein master and three times West German master. The silver laurel leaf was presented to him personally by Federal President Theodor Heuss .

Kolle Günnemann had been married since 1955 and had a daughter.
