Vicente C. Manuel (born November 18, 1938 in Calintaan , Kanlurang Mindoro , Philippines , † August 18, 2007 in Quezon City , Philippines) was Roman Catholic Vicar Apostolic of San Jose in Mindoro, Philippines.

Life

Vicente C. Manuel studied from 1954 to 1958 philosophy at Christ the King Seminary, which entered Congregation of the Divine Word Missionaries (SVD) at and studied in the seminary in Quezon City from 1959 to 1963 theology . From 1965 to 1968 he studied social sciences in Tagaytay City , where he was ordained a priest on December 1, 1968 . He was then from 1969 to 1972 national pastor of the Federation of Free Farmers (FFF), a partnership between the state and farmers to implement agrarian reform in the Philippines. From 1973 to 1976 he was prefect for the pastoral work of the Steyler missionaries. From 1977 to 1980 he completed postgraduate studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome . After his return in 1980 he was director of the SVD's social program in Manila and also its provincial superior there.

In 1983 he was appointed Vicar Apostolic of the Apostolic Vicariate of San Jose in Mindoro , Philippines, by John Paul II , and was appointed Titular Bishop of Albulae . The episcopal ordination received his Bruno Torpigliani on June 29, 1983 in Quezon City. Manuel was chairman of the Apostolic Mission Commission (ECM) of the Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP); In 2003 he chaired the first national Philippine mission conference in Cebu City . He co-founded The Philippines Association of Catholic Missiologists (PACM) in 2000; In 2000, his resignation was also approved by John Paul II. Then Manuel worked in pastoral care in Cebu.

Vicente C. Manuel died of cancer in August 2007 at the age of 68.
