Karl Gautschi (born June 9, 1939 in Menziken ) is a Swiss satirist.

biography

Gautschi studied German literature and history at the University of Zurich and did his doctorate with Emil Staiger . He was a district teacher in Menziken and lecturer in the history and didactics of history teaching at various schools, for example at the higher educational institution of the canton of Aargau (today the pedagogical college of the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland ), at the teaching college of the canton of Aargau and at the Brugg-Windisch School of Economics and inspector at the Solothurn teacher training college and the Solothurn canton school.

Gautschi wrote columns, glosses and satirical short stories for various newspapers and magazines, for example for the NZZ , the Aargauer Tagblatt , the Zürcher Oberländer , the Aargauer Kurier, Meyers Modeblatt, Schweizerzeit and the Aargauer Zeitung . He also created cabaret texts for Elsie Attenhofer and the “Aargauer Troubadours”. In addition to his books with satires, he also wrote works on local history.
