Karl Heinz Deickert

Karl Heinz Deickert , also Karl-Heinz Deickert , (born May 19, 1931 in Pasewalk ; † December 15, 2007 ) was a German actor , director and screenwriter .

After training to be an actor in Hamburg, Deickert completed an apprenticeship at the DEFA young talent studio . He took on supporting roles in the cinema, including as the working-class son in Wolfgang Staudte's film drama Rotation (1949) and as Cologne timber merchant Elias in the fairy tale film The Cold Heart (1950). Deickert later left the GDR and then worked behind the camera in West Germany. He was assistant director to Rudolf Jugert and Helmut Käutner before moving to ZDF in the mid-1960s . Here he worked as a writer and director until the 1990s, among other things he was jointly responsible for the series Das kleine Fernsehspiel .
