Karl Levi Daniel Henry (born November 26, 1982 in Wolverhampton ) is an English football player . The midfielder , who can be used on the flanks as well as in the center , has been active for Bradford City since November 2018 .

Athletic career

Although Henry was born in Wolverhampton, he began his football career as a junior player at Stoke City , where he went through the youth teams up to the professional division. He celebrated February 7, 2001 on the occasion of a 4-0 win against FC Walsall in the Football League Trophy, the debut in the first team. He did not come back to his next games until the following season 2001/02, but was there in 2002 with the then third division team after the league debut against Huddersfield Town on September 8, 2001 with a total of 24 games significantly involved in the promotion to the second division.

In the following years, however, Henry did not get beyond the status of a supplementary player. Around half of his assignments with the "Potters" were not from the start and almost consequently loaned out to the fourth division club Cheltenham Town in January 2004 . After his return he played continuously in the team and came in the 2004/05 season on 34 league appearances. However, the new coach Johan Boskamp no longer held on to him in the 2005/06 season and so the club said before the end of the season that Henry had been given clearance to move. When Tony Pulis Boskamp took over, the club's leadership changed their minds and made a new offer to the player, who was still in training but was formally without a contract. Regardless, the club allowed him to audition for the Wolverhampton Wanderers . Since the "Wolves" decided to buy, Henry moved to Wolverhampton in August 2006, in return for a training allowance of 100,000 pounds flowed to Stoke-on-Trent - other parts of the contract were a 15% stake for Stoke City in the case a resale to a third club as well as further compensation payments up to 75,000 pounds, staggered according to the number of stakes with the Wolves.

In the first season with his hometown club, Henry established immediately in the starting line-up, although he often on the position of the right full-back had to help out. On March 3, 2007, he contracted a potentially life-threatening spleen contusion in the game against Luton Town , from which he fully recovered, but which put him out of action by the end of the season. With 44 appearances in the 2007/08 season, he returned completely to the first team and after narrowly missing out on participation in the promotion play-off games, he was promoted to the Premier League in the 2008/09 season . He temporarily represented the experienced Jody Craddock as team captain and was in the center of midfield on the side of newcomer David Jones, above all the "man for the rough". In view of the increased importance, the club tied him long-term with a new four-year contract on May 27, 2009. On July 23, 2013, Henry moved to the Queens Park Rangers , relegated from the Premier League .
