Karl Hoyer
Karl Hoyer (born January 9, 1891 in Weißenfels , † June 12, 1936 in Leipzig ) was a German organist and church musician.
Career
Karl Hoyer studied at the Leipzig Conservatory with Max Reger , Karl Straube and Stephan Krehl . In 1911 he became organist at the Knights and Cathedral Church in Reval . 1912 first organist at the city church St. Jacobi in Chemnitz . From 1926 he was a teacher of organ playing and theory at the Leipzig Conservatory and at the same time full-time organist at the main church of St. Nicolai there . He joined the NSDAP on November 1, 1932 ( membership number 1,377,002). In 1934 he was appointed professor at the Church Music Institute .
