Karl Huber (painter)

Karl Huber (born December 4, 1928 in Freising , † June 11, 2009 in Dachau ) was a German painter and sculptor .

biography

Karl Huber was already interested in painting, mainly landscape painting, during his time at the Dom-Gymnasium . He studied and painted in Sweden from 1956 to 1959 . In 1963 he moved from Freising to Dachau and is considered an important representative of the Dachau painting tradition.

Works

In addition to painting, Karl Huber created bronze sculptures, mosaics and other religious works of art. Some of his works can be seen in public places:

  • “Bear fountain” in front of the adult education center in Freising
  • Butcher's boy at the car park on Dr.-von-Daller-Strasse in Freising
  • Monument fountain in the center of Freising with the sculpture of Roider Jackl
  • The work of the Triune God. Copper reliefs of the entrance door to the monastery church in Schönbrunn (Dachau district)
  • Last supper. Relief on the altar in the asylum church of Schönbrunn (painted limestone )
  • Spring cream in the Dachauer Moos , 1968
