Karl Kuenzel

Karl Künzel (born June 29, 1889 in Vienna ; † February 23, 1945 there ) was an Austrian film production manager , production and production group leader.

Life

Künzel attended high school and the cadet school and then received consular training. With the rank of Austrian consul , Künzel had already worked as a production employee at the film company Sascha for some films, e.g. B. 1930/31 The flower woman from Lindenau ( storm in a glass of water ) and purple and wash blue , first experiences.

Together with the actor Paul Hörbiger and the director EW Emo , he founded the production company Allgemeine Filmaufnahme und Vertriebs GmbH , or Algefa for short , based in Berlin in 1935 . For Algefa he produced the productions Emos without exception until it was temporarily discontinued in 1937. Künzel also headed this company as managing director. Later, too, Künzel worked as a production or manufacturing and manufacturing group leader for Emo, this time in the service of Emo-Film and, after its rapid dissolution, Wien-Film .

Künzel died in the late phase of the Second World War under unknown circumstances. He was buried at the Ober Sankt Veiter cemetery .
