action

The admiration of the servant Anton for the nobility is boundless and he is very impressed that his count's master intends to marry a baroness of old nobility. He is not at all taken with his neighbors, the hard-working Lugauers. This changes suddenly when the heavily pregnant daughter of the Lugauers appears in the castle, has a child and confesses to him that the Count's son is the father. He had fallen out with his father because of his inappropriate intentions to marry the young woman from Lugau.

The child softens old Anton's heart and he hides it in the castle, which leads to all sorts of turbulence and entanglements. When the baroness refuses to tolerate the child at all, Anton Sturm runs against this useless person and finally convinces his master to give up his marriage intentions in this regard, to be reconciled with his son and to accept the marriage with the young Lugauerin.

Reviews

The Heyne Film Lexicon from 1996 stated: “Pope Hans Moser as a valet Anton who selfishly looks to maintain the old order that a young count seems to be threatening. A comedy of the charming kind. "

Film.at wrote: "Hans Moser was able to pull out all the stops again and create one of his most contradicting characters."

Cinema found the script only "partially amusing" and was of the opinion that "even Nuschel-Hans was just nervous".
