Life

Gertrud Wolle was a nanny for two years and then attended drama school in Berlin. In September 1916 she came to the Deutsches Theater , where she made her debut in Goethe's Faust .

Early on, Gertrud Wolle was committed to the role of the bizarre older woman on stage and in silent films . With the introduction of the sound film , she was used in this function in an enormous number of productions. She appeared in mostly short appearances to the amusement of the audience as a shrill, ridiculous woman in the role of a secretary, teacher, home manager, saleswoman, clerk or neighbor.

Due to this continuous work in film, she hardly had any time for theater appearances and only appeared on stage again after 1945, for example at the Stadttheater Passau . After that she was again active in film in the usual way until her death.

Her grave is in the Grünwald forest cemetery near Munich.
