Karl Kaplan

Karl Kaplan (* 11. October 1942 in Weppersdorf ) is an Austrian ÖVP - politicians .

Life

Kaplan visited after the elementary school , the secondary school and the Catholic College of Education Eisenstadt and worked from 1962 to 1965 as a primary school teacher. He completed his military service in 1965 , attended the Theresian Military Academy from 1965 to 1969 and was a career officer in the Austrian Armed Forces from 1969 to 1975 .

He then worked as secretary of the Austrian Workers' Association and was appointed Vice President of the Chamber for Workers and Salaried Employees for Burgenland (1979–1987). In 1979 he became a board member of the Burgenland Regional Health Insurance Fund .

From 1986 to 1991 he was state party secretary of the ÖVP Burgenland . He was a member of the Burgenland Landtag from 1987 to 1996, and from 1991 to 1996 also chairman of the Landtag Club of the ÖVP Burgenland.

Karl Kaplan was a member of the Burgenland provincial government from 1996 and since 1983 district chairman of the ÖAAB Oberpullendorf . From 1982 to 1987 he was a member of the Federal Council .

Kaplan is a member of the Burgenland state executive of the Austrian Federation of Trade Unions and the state management of the private employees' union. He is the bearer of the Great Decoration of Honor of the Province of Burgenland and the Ring of Honor of the Free City of Eisenstadt.

In addition, Kaplan was President of the Burgenland Football Association from 2004 to 2012 .
