Karl Keller

Karl Keller , also spelled Carl Keller (born April 25, 1839 in Munich ; † November 3, 1928 there ), was a German engineer , mechanical engineer and university professor .

Life

Karl Keller, son of Johann Nepomuk Keller, devoted himself to the put-away High School initially studying science at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich , then, that of mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Karlsruhe . After completing his studies, Keller completed a one-year internship before taking up an engineering position at the JA Maffei locomotive and machine factory in Munich.

After Karl Keller had passed the teaching examination for polytechnic schools in 1864 , he was given an assistant position at the TH Karlsruhe in 1868, and in the following year he was promoted to full professor for mechanical engineering. In the years 1872 to 1880 he also gave lectures on agricultural mechanical engineering at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . In addition, from 1886 until his retirement , Keller held the office of expert for the state fire brigade support fund.

Karl Keller, who received an honorary doctorate from the University of Padua, published, among other things, the multiple edition manual " Calculation and Construction of Engines: A Construction Theory for Mechanical Engineering ", first published in 1874 by Bassermann Verlag.
