Career

Marek Schwarz began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of BK Mladá Boleslav , where he was active until 2001. He then moved to the junior division of HC Sparta Prague , for whose professional team the goalkeeper made his debut in the Czech extra league in the 2002/03 season . In the 2003/04 season he started again at HC Sparta Prague, but later played for the Extraliga rivals HC Lasselsberger Plzeň and HC Oceláři Třinec and as a loaner for his former club BK Mladá Boleslav, for which he was in one Game in the first division , the second Czech division, stood between the posts. The 2004/05 season he spent with the Vancouver Giants in the Canadian Junior League Western Hockey League , after he had previously been selected in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft in the first round as the 17th player of the St. Louis Blues .

For the 2005/06 season black returned to HC Sparta Prague in the Extraliga. With his team he was the first time Czech champions as a substitute goalkeeper . He also ran as a loan player in four games for the second division HC Berounští Medvědi . From 2006 to 2009 he was under contract with his draft club St. Louis Blues, for which he played a total of six times in the National Hockey League . For the most part, however, he played for their farm team Peoria Rivermen in the American Hockey League and in 19 games for the Alaska Aces in the ECHL . Towards the end of the 2008/09 season he moved to his hometown club BK Mladá Boleslav, which had meanwhile been promoted back to the Extraliga. For the team he played as a goalkeeper for the next two and a quarter years. For the 2011/12 season , the Czech was signed by TPS Turku from the Finnish SM-liiga . There he was regularly used in the main round, but returned to HC Sparta Prague one more time after the season.

In January 2013, the Bílí Tygři Liberec and HC Sparta exchanged their goalkeepers, so that Black moved to Liberec and Marek Pinc to Prague. He played with the White Tigers from Liberec until 2016 and was also used in the 1st division with HC Benátky nad Jizerou . In 2016 he won his second Czech championship title with Liberec. He then received no new contract with the Tigers and moved to Orli Znojmo in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga .
