Karl Krafft (manufacturer)
Karl Krafft (born July 9, 1852 in Auggen ; † October 20, 1903 there ) was a German manufacturer and member of the Baden state parliament .
Life
After attending the high school in Freiburg , he began studying mechanical engineering at the Karlsruhe Polytechnic in 1869 . In 1874 Krafft went to Liverpool to study the cotton market. To support his grandfather, Krafft came to Schopfheim in 1975 , where he managed the Aßenbach cotton spinning mill, the silk spinning mill and, later, the Haufen worsted yarn mill . The worsted yarn spinning mill was transferred to the mechanical colored weaving mill Brennet, which was co-founded by Krafft in 1888 and of which he was chairman of the supervisory board. In addition to working as a manufacturer, Krafft also took an active part in public life. In 1885 he became a member of the Lörrach district assembly , in 1889 president of the newly founded Chamber of Commerce of the Lörrach and Waldshut districts in Schopfheim and a member of numerous economic chambers. From 1895 to 1902 Krafft was a member of the first chamber of the Baden state parliament . He was a candidate for the National Liberal Party in the third Reichstag constituency in Baden .
