Karl Kuhn (politician)

Karl Kuhn (* 14. February 1898 in Kreuznach , † 18 October 1986 ) was a German politician of the SPD .

Karl Kuhn was a teacher. From 1919 to 1933 he was employed at elementary schools in the Cologne district . From 1926 to 1929 he studied social pedagogy and social sciences . After the National Socialists came to power, he was dismissed from the public service in 1933 and temporarily placed in " protective custody ". From 1938 to 1945 he worked in wholesale. From 1945 he worked in the nutrition office of the Kreuznach district .

Karl Kuhn joined the SPD in 1922. In 1929 he became a member of the district council in the Siegkreis . In 1946 he became a member of the Advisory State Assembly that drafted the State Constitution for Rhineland-Palatinate. After their approval in a referendum, Karl Kuhn was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament from 1947 to 1967 . He was a member of the Parliamentary Council in 1948/49 . In 1949 he became the first alderman in Bad Kreuznach.

His estate is in the Koblenz State Main Archive and in the Archive of Social Democracy of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation .
