Karl Levin von Trümbach (born September 5, 1718 in Wehrda , † May 2, 1779 in Kassel ) was a Hesse-Kassel general.

His parents were Adam Christoph von Trümbach (1676–1747) and his wife Sophia Luisa von Baumbach auf Kirchheim (1707–1762).

Life

Karl Levin von Trümbach came from a knightly dynasty in the village of Wehrda in Buchonia - located between the territories of the Imperial Abbey of Hersfeld and the Imperial Abbey of Fulda - in what is now Hesse . After their separation from the Fulda Abbot, the Trümbachs are counted as part of the “Buchisches Quartier” of the knight canton Rhön-Werra of the (Franconian) imperial knighthood. On May 15, 1732 he became a cadet in the Hesse-Kassel Grenadier Regiment . He became an ensign on May 15, 1737, a lieutenant on September 4, 1742 and a captain on July 11, 1745. Promoted to lieutenant colonel on July 8, 1759 and to colonel on April 17, 1761. On May 10, 1766 he was appointed major general and chief of the body infantry regiment . On September 24, 1778 he became lieutenant general and on September 25, he received the Wölwarth regiment . The regiment later fought in America.

His ruler repeatedly rented his troops to foreign powers, so Trümbach also fought in various wars:
