Karl Marberger

Karl Marberger (born August 10, 1910 in Umhausen ; † October 15, 1995 in Innsbruck ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and innkeeper. He was a member of the Federal Council from 1958 to 1962 and a member of the Austrian National Council from 1962 to 1970 .

After elementary school, Marberger attended the community school and then the commercial school in Mehrerau . He then completed a hospitality training course at the Union Helvetia hotel management school in Lucerne . In 1938 he joined the NSDAP and was given membership number 6,281,351, which suggests that he was an "illegal alien " . In addition, he became a member of the SA and held the position of press director in a local group. In 1943 he took over his parents' hotel business. After the Second World War , he became involved as the head of the specialist group in the Tyrolean inn and pub section and was deputy regional group chairman of the Austrian Economic Association for Tyrol. He was also a member of the Tyrolean Regional Transport Council and district chairman of the district office of the Chamber of Commerce in Imst. He represented the ÖVP in the Federal Council from May 29, 1958 to December 14, 1962, where he chaired the Federal Council between July 1, 1958 and December 31, 1958. He was also a member of the National Council from December 14, 1962 to March 31, 1970.
