Karl Maria Kubizek

Karl Maria Kubizek (born May 11, 1925 in Eferding ; † March 8, 1995 in Bad Hall ) was an Austrian musician and music teacher at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz .

Live and act

After graduating from the Stiftsgymnasium Seitenstetten , he graduated from the Linz teacher training college from 1939 to 1943 . He made his first musical experiences at home, where violin and piano were played. His father was the conductor August Kubizek , his mother the violinist Anna Funke, and his older brother Augustin Kubizek (1918 to 2009) was a composer and musicologist .

He was a choirboy in the Seitenstetten Abbey . He learned clarinet and music theory at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz , at the Vienna University of Music he continued his education as a teacher at various Upper Austrian compulsory and music schools and received his diploma in 1959.

From 1966 to 1988 he was professor for clarinet and wind chamber music at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz and from 1969 to 1986 he also taught at the Federal Education Academy for Upper Austria .

Kubizek was a member of the Innviertel artists' guild .
