Karl Mengel (born January 18, 1900 in Rosenthal ; † February 10, 1975 ) was a Hessian politician ( CDU ) and member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

Karl Mengel attended the agricultural school after primary school and then ran his parents' farm.

politics

On April 1, 1941, Mengel joined the NSDAP . After the Second World War , he was classified as a follower as part of the denazification on January 16, 1947 . The appeal against this decision was successful: With the appeal decision of July 1, 1948, the classification was changed to "exonerated".

Mengel was a member of the CDU and was active there in many board positions. From 1952 to 1964 and again from 1968 to 1972 he was a member of the district council of the Frankenberg district . In the district council he was parliamentary group leader of the CDU. Between 1968 and 1972 he was a member of the district committee.

From December 1, 1950 to November 30, 1966 he was a member of the Hessian state parliament.

In 1959 he was a member of the 3rd Federal Assembly .

Other offices

Karl Mengel was the first chairman of the district farmers' association in the Frankenberg district. He was a member of the Synod of the Evangelical Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck .
