Karl Oberparleiter

Karl Oberparleiter (born September 18, 1886 in Salzburg , † July 3, 1968 in Vienna ) was an Austrian economist .

Life

Oberparleiter visited Salzburg in the elementary and secondary school before the Trade Academy in 1901 Linz went. He left this in 1904 and on July 7, 1906, graduated with honors from the Export Academy in Vienna . He then went to the 4th regiment of the Tyrolean Kaiserjäger as a volunteer for a year . This was followed by a position as head of the foreign department of a London textile company. In 1909 he went back to the Export Academy, where he initially worked as an assistant, later as an adjunct and lecturer in business administration. He passed his teaching examination in autumn 1911 and worked for him after Josef Hellauer was called to Vienna. As an officer of the Kaiserjäger he was called to military service in 1914 and received several awards there. His military service ended in October 1917 to give him the opportunity to teach at the export academy. In 1920 he took up one of his diverse activities as a sworn book expert in addition to his scientific work.

In 1923 he was appointed associate professor at the University of World Trade (previously the Export Academy). His doctorate took place in 1923 at the University of Frankfurt am Main with "The documentary letter of credit" . In 1926 he was promoted to full professor appointed . After the Second World War, Oberparleiter was director of the University for World Trade for several years.

In 1950 he became President of the Austrian UNESCO Commission and remained so for five years.
