Karl Otto Horch

Karl Otto Horch (born March 20, 1887 in Heilbronn ; † February 12, 1965 in Faurndau ) was a German educator and writer .

Live and act

Karl Otto Horch studied at the Universities of Tübingen and Leipzig from 1907 to 1913 , from which he graduated with a doctorate in philosophy . He then worked as a teacher until 1920 . From 1920 to 1937 he worked as Reich Secretary of the YMCA in Ravensburg , from 1921 to 1925 he was also the “ Reich Scout ” of the Christian Scouting Association in Germany . In the 1920s, Karl Otto Horch played a key role in building up the Protestant youth group, and from 1921 to 1933 he headed the youth magazine Die Junge Schar . From 1939 Horch was regional youth warden of the Palatinate regional church in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse . After 1945 he worked as editor-in-chief of the YMCA-Jungscharkalender. Horch had lived with his wife in Faurndau in Württemberg since 1932 .

In addition to his work as a functionary , Karl Otto Horch wrote books for young people , poems and amateur plays .
