Karl Otto Taubert

Karl Otto Taubert (born June 26, 1833 in Naumburg , † August 1, 1903 in Torgau ) was a German music teacher .

Life

He attended high school in Naumburg and then studied philology in Halle . Then he acquired the qualification as a singing and gymnastics teacher. Working as a private teacher in Naumburg from 1858 to 59, Taubert was doing his doctorate in Bonn at that time . He then worked as a teacher in Mönchengladbach , Schwelm , Arnsberg , Tilsit and Rastenburg . In 1864 he passed the senior teacher examination in Königsberg . In the same year Taubert took up a position as a senior high school teacher (associated with the title of professor) in Torgau. There he worked as music director and cantor and was involved in several associations.

Taubert wrote several publications on the rich musical history of Torgau. Because of his achievements in the musical field, he was appointed King in 1887. Prussian music director and in 1900 awarded him the medal " Red Eagle " (4th grade).
