Karl Pirlet

Karl Pirlet (born December 3, 1920 in Aachen , † February 28, 2010 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen ) was a German specialist and university professor .

Life

Pirlet grew up as the oldest of nine children in Aachen. His parents were the civil engineer Josef Pirlet and Else Pirlet, geb. Giani.

From 1947 he studied human medicine at the University of Cologne and became an internist and neurologist . In 1955 he became a research assistant at the University of Kiel , where he carried out physiological and experimental work. 1962-1986 he was professor of the University of Frankfurt with the fields of internal medicine , rheumatology , physical and dietary therapy , climatology , Balneology , constitution physiology and molecular biology .

After his retirement he lived in Garmisch-Partenkirchen .

In his publications he dealt in particular with questions of metabolism and healthy nutrition .
