Karl Quasebeard

Karl Quasebart (born July 8, 1882 in Aachen , † May 24, 1949 in Berlin ) was a German entrepreneur and military economic leader .

Life

His parents were Josef Quasebart (director of the chemical factory Rhenania AG in Stolberg ) and his wife Cäcillie geb. Hermanns. Karl was married to Rose born in 1925. Frommel. She was the granddaughter of Emil Frommel . Karl attended secondary school in Aachen, then studied metallurgy at the Technical University of Aachen (diploma in 1904), received his doctorate in Halle in 1908 on the subject of "Gasification experiments with the Morgan generator" and then worked as an engineer at the Ehrhardt & Sehmer machine factory. He then worked for Carl Tielsch, a mirror glass manufacturer belonging to St. Gobain near Altwasser / Silesia. From 1910 to 1918 Karl Quasebart was professor for structural metallurgy, glassworks and firing science at the TH Aachen. Shortly after the end of the war in 1918, he took up a position as director of the fuel supply company. Quasebart also acted as CEO of Auergesellschaft AG and was a member of numerous supervisory boards.

Quasebart played a key role in founding the thermal engineering advice center of the German glass industry and later dealt with the conversion of gas mask production for peacetime purposes. During the Third Reich he was appointed military economist and was in charge of gas mask production in the armaments ministry .

Quasebart was a board member of the German Glass Technology Society. He was a member of the board of trustees of the Silicate Research Institute of the Kaiser Wilhelm Society for the Advancement of Science .
