Karl Röck

Karl Röck ( pseudonym : Guido Höld ) (born March 20, 1883 in Imst ; † June 9, 1954 in Innsbruck ) was an Austrian writer.

Röck worked as a magistrate official in Innsbruck from 1913 to 1926. He worked for the magazine Brenner and belonged to the closest circle of friends of Georg Trakl , after whose death he was commissioned with the complete edition of Trakl's seals (1917). He thus became the first editor of Trakl's work. Röck's edition determined the reception of Trakl's work up to the appearance of the historical-critical Trakl edition by Walther Killy and Hans Szklenar. Even Martin Heidegger and Paul Celan have read Trakl's work in the Röck'schen output.

Röck's diary (1891–1946) is considered a valuable source for the Tyrolean intellectual and cultural life.
