Karl Reinerth

Karl Daniel Reinerth (born January 28, 1891 in Großschenk , Transylvania , † November 16, 1986 in Lauffen am Neckar ) was a German Protestant theologian and church historian of Transylvanian origin.

Life

Karl Reinerth, son of Pastor Daniel Reinerth (1852–1900), moved with his family to Mediasch after the early death of his father , where he passed his Abitur in 1909 . He then completed his theology studies at the Universities of Halle , Berlin and Marburg . From 1914 he provided pastoral services in the Evangelical Church AB in Transylvania , most recently from 1928 to 1961 as a pastor in Sibiu . Karl Reinerth then moved to Lauffen am Neckar, where he died at the age of 96.

Karl Reinerth made pioneering contributions to the church history of Transylvania during the Reformation , which were summarized in The Foundation of the Evangelical Church in Transylvania, published in 1979 by Böhlau Verlag . He enriched medieval church history with studies on legal history and the order of worship.
