Karl Schäfer (politician)

Karl Schäfer (born August 12, 1912 in Obereschenbach ; † April 21, 1991 in Nuremberg ) was a German politician ( CSU ).

Schäfer attended elementary school and high school in Bamberg . After completing a commercial apprenticeship in Nuremberg, he worked for various Nuremberg companies and was married into a well-known retail business in 1938, where he initially only worked in the family association, from 1950 onwards exclusively. He took part in World War II and was a prisoner of war until 1946.

In 1946, Schäfer joined the CSU, where he was a member of the CSU regional board and deputy chairman of the Junge Union Bayern. He was also the diocesan chairman of the German Youth Force in Bavaria, chairman of the Nuremberg-Fürth district association of the CSU and honorary city councilor in Nuremberg. From 1954 to 1978 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament .
