Karl Schroeder (District Administrator)

Kurt Ernst Karl Schroeder (born December 23, 1870 in Stettin ; † May 8, 1940 in Breslau ) was a German administrative officer and district administrator of the Wittgenstein district .

Life

Karl Schroeder was the son of a builder. He married Luise Klara Eberschulz, the daughter of the Stettin merchant Otto Eberschulz.

He studied Jus at the University of Bonn . In 1891 he became a member of the Corps Palatia Bonn .

After completing his studies and doctorate as Dr. jur. In 1893 he became a court trainee and in 1895 a government trainee with the Cologne government . At the end of 1898 he passed the exam for government assessor. After his appointment as a government assessor (seniority on December 17, 1898), he worked in the Deutsch Krone district . On January 1, 1901, he moved to the Arnsberg government .

On May 29, 1905, he took over the provisional administration of the Wittgenstein district. On November 4, 1905, the district council recommended that Schroeder be appointed without naming any further candidates. From 1905 to 1911 Schroeder was district administrator for the Wittgenstein district . He was also a member of the Provincial Parliament of Westphalia.

On March 10, 1911, he moved to the Breslau government as a councilor . On March 10, 1930, he was senior government councilor at the Upper Presidium of the Province of Silesia in Breslau.

As a reserve officer in the Hussar Regiment "King Wilhelm I" (1st Rheinisches) No. 7 , he was awarded the Landwehr Service Award 2nd Class and the Iron Cross 2nd Class.
