Karl Stisser

Karl Stisser (born September 13, 1865 in Grund ; † September 23, 1948 in Göttingen ) was a German Evangelical Lutheran clergyman and the last general superintendent of Hildesheim.

Life

Stisser was a son of pastor Hermann Friedrich Wilhelm Ludwig Stisser in Bad Grund . He studied Protestant theology in Erlangen and Göttingen . In Göttingen he became a member of the Teutonia fraternity in the winter semester of 1886/87. In 1892 Stisser became pastor in Bodenfelde , in 1899 second pastor at the Luther Church in Hanover . From 1909 he was also superintendent of the newly formed Hanover III inspection. From 1911 to 1925 he was the first pastor at the St. Albani Church in Göttingen and superintendent of the Göttingen III inspection. On November 1, 1925, he became general superintendent of Hildesheim and member of the Hanover regional church office of the Evangelical Lutheran regional church of Hanover. From 1935 he was also a spiritual member of the provisional church government of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Regional Church of Hanover. In 1936 he retired. With the creation of the state superintendent by Regional Bishop August Marahrens , the office of general superintendent was abolished in the same year.

Stisser's first marriage was to Charlotte Less († 1898). The second marriage in 1901 with Adolfine Friederike Louise Marie ("Mia") Ohnesorg (* 1878) had five sons and one daughter.
