Karl Wilhelm von Niesemeuschel (born January 11, 1757 in Boguslawitz ( Militsch district ), † March 17, 1833 in Potsdam) was royal Prussian major general and most recently the commander of the 1st Silesian Landwehr Infantry Regiment.

His parents were Ernst Wilhelm von Niesemeuschel (* March 3, 1723, † March 14, 1794) and his wife Maria N. N. His father was a master on Boguslawitz and a captain a. D. from Infantry Regiment No. 16 .

Life

He came to Berlin on May 10, 1768 as a cadet. From there he came to the Academie Militaire on March 13, 1771 . On April 7, 1776 he was assigned to the 1st Battalion of the Guard (No. 15) as an ensign . As such, he took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession . On July 3, 1784 he was second lieutenant, on September 28, 1792 Premier Lieutenant and on February 20, 1795 staff captain. On January 19, 1798, he was made a real captain and company commander in the 1st Battalion of the Guard, as well as a major in the army. On June 1, 1805 he was promoted to Major in the Guard. As such, he took part in the Fourth Coalition War. He fought in the battle of Auerstedt , but then only received half pay, was then dismissed, but earmarked for re-employment.

On July 27, 1813, he came as a commander in the 1st Silesian Landwehr Infantry Regiment. With this he took part in the siege of Magdeburg. On December 8, 1813, he became lieutenant colonel and on May 30, 1814, he was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd class for Magdeburg. On August 11, 1814, he received his retirement as a colonel with a pension of 500 thalers. During his service he got to know the then Crown Prince Friedrich Wilhelm , who repeatedly gave him money. On July 30, 1821, he was given the character of major general with a pension of now 600 thalers. He died on March 17, 1833 in Potsdam.

He married on January 12, 1801 in Potsdam Caroline Friederike Wilhelmine Ulrike Luise von Linckersdorff (* June 2, 1787, † November 5, 1843), the eldest daughter of General von Linckersdorff . Both were buried in the Bornstedter cemetery .
