Karl Friedrich Johann Jakob von Linckersdorff (* 1725 in Stuttgart , † March 29, 1782 in Potsdam ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

origin

His parents were the Württemberg colonel Johann Jakob von Linckersdorff (born January 31, 1707; † December 19, 1757) and his wife Johanna Luise, born von Francken (* 1706; † September 28, 1779). His father came from Zaberfeld in the Oberamt Brankenheim and died as a Prussian prisoner of war in Neumark .

Military career

Linckersdorff went to Württemberg service in 1740 and came into the Leibregiment on foot. On July 18, 1744, he was second lieutenant , on January 1, 1749, first lieutenant and on December 16, 1752, captain of the staff . On February 21, 1757 he was promoted to captain of the Leibregiment. In the Seven Years War he took part in the Battle of Leuthen . On December 21, 1757 he came to the "Werneck" infantry regiment and on December 28, 1757 he became a lieutenant colonel in the life guard. On October 12, 1758, he was transferred to the Leibgrenadierregiment. On February 11, 1759 he was promoted to colonel and knight of the Military Order of Carls . On January 1, 1761 he was appointed commander of the Stein infantry regiment. On December 28, 1766, he left his service in Württemberg.

On July 4, 1767, like other officers, he went into Prussian service and came as a colonel in the king's suite with an annual salary of 1,000 thalers. On September 27, 1767 he was commissioned to recruit soldiers in the empire, for which he received 1,000 thalers. He did this very successfully, especially aristocrats from Württemberg came. On January 27, 1769 he received permission to join the Russian army in the campaign against the Turks, but on November 12, 1769 he was recalled. On April 1, 1778, he received a brigade in Prince Heinrich's army, with whom he participated in the War of the Bavarian Succession from 1778 to 1779 . On January 6, 1779, he was appointed major general in the army. He died on March 29, 1782 in Potsdam.

Linckersdorff married Wilhelmine Elisabeth von Kaltenthal (* October 25, 1723, † March 27, 1786). The couple had several children including:

After his divorce he married on January 20, 1774 Katharina Elisabeth Kühn, divorced von Borcke. The couple had several children including:

  • Luise Wilhelmine Charlotte (* July 13, 1774; † 1843), childhood sweetheart of Heinrich von Kleist ⚭ January 12, 1801 Karl Wilhelm von Niesemeuschel (1757–1833), general
